As far as a guy with that name....yes, but a guy that writes in the same fashion.....I doubt it, John had a certain pureness to the way he sang and wrote. He will be greatly missed.

No,
He came into the scene at the time where country was expanding into what we have now.
Many country music people did not except him as a country music singer and some of the older crowed still do not consider John Denver country.
Such as what Charlie Rich did with John Denver's award. At the time this is just the way people felt about John Denver. Of course for us watching the award show, we were rather shocked. I always liked John Denver and thought what Rich did was very distasteful.

John Denver's brand of country music was gentle and nice. I liked it an awfully lot. He was more of a poet than a lot of the singers in his time. But I think that there is plenty of room for all kinds of music under the heading of COUNTRY so I enjoy John Denver as well as the Waylons and Willies and Merles of country music.

Never. I really miss him. You know he is singing for the angels though.Have you heard John Prine? His voice is not so smooth and his music is a bit different but love him too. He wrote a lot about the coal mines and the people of the Appalachians.

I loved John. Saw him many times in concert and on ski slopes with his wife in Colorado, he kept his plane at same airport as my boss, who saw him the day he died. I dont think there will ever be another JOhn
