First of all Niedermayer has a no-trade clause in his contract. It took him this long to decide if he wanted to even come back and play, there is no way he would accept this trade. If you remember when he signed with Anaheim, he said he wanted to finish out his career playing with his brother.

it's a terrible rumour that's for sure. Niedermayer is a Duck, he was just taking time off to figure if it was time to hang-um up that's all.

JFJ lost his jobs two years ago after re-signing McCabe with a NO trade Claus, JFJ is gone at the end of the year for sure maybe even sooner. as some of you might already know that Leafs owner Peddie said last week that is was a big mistake on getting JFJ as GM.

Loblaw>>>>if you watched the news conference yesterday that's what Niedermayer said he needed to take time off and really think if it was time. the Ducks need to get rid of about $800,000 to fit Niedermayer in the Cap.

Only believable cause its the Leafs. Trade your best D-man for a guy who may will retire or semi retire next year.

Given that he, Niedermayer, is not completely washed up yet I doubt the leafs would bother picking him up.

Now Kaberle and Pogge for Chelios and Hasak would fit the JFJ plan.

Seriously you will not get that much for a guy near retirement.

I wouldn't do that trade because Kaberle is going to be around for a lot longer then Scott will. Plus Kaberle is the best D on the Leafs.

Habitant- I don't think anyone can profess to know exactly what was going on in Niedermayer's head, personal life etc. He is a very private person. Unless you are privy to some sort of insider information that the rest of us aren't.

Only possible because Scotty wouldn't have to play with Tie Dummy. No, the only way Niedermayer is going to Toronto is when he's inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, which is in Toronto. (It's the only way to have the Stanley Cup there.)

I'd say it's about the same chances as LITY not knowing an answer to a question: It probably will never happen, but it might.

And you thought Leaf fans were upset now, huh? Wouldn't it be a great way for JFJ to be remembered?

And monkeys will fly out of my butt.

I'll tell you a secret: when you hear trade rumors involving the Leafs, ignore them. They are not true 99% of the time.
