Call Of Duty 4 is just plain outrageous! The single player campaign is kinda short but online play is superb! The graphics are pure next gen and the overall atmosphere is outstanding, I run out of superlatives I really do.
Also Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii, the game mechanics are unlike anything out there. Using the Wii-mote the way God intended. There's not many things more satisfying than riping off a guys shield with a flick of the left wrist, and shooting him in the face with the right. So good!
I'd be hyped about MGS:4 if I had a PS3. But in my opinion it is the one game that will sell more PS3's than any other so far. It looks pretty sweet.

I'm not a Xbox gamer at all, but in terms of the most hyped game in 2007 it was Halo 3, I'm not going to deny it.
But anyways, I'm totally excited about Metal Gear Solid 4. In some of the game trailers I saw Eva and Vamp. I can't believe that Vamp still isn't dead for God's sake!
And most of all, I'm excited to see Raiden again. He looks cool in that cyborg suit. In 2008 there is no doubt that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the best game. And anyone that doesn't play Metal Gear Solid games hasn't played a real good game in their lives. The story in the Metal Gear Solid games just keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more.

Assassin's Creed warrants a Game of the Year... Gameplay and graphics were great, storyline was interesting, even though the gameplay was repetitive, it was cool. 3rd choice for GotY.
But I also find that Portal was an innovative game, it had a mysterious story, interesting gameplay, pretty easy, but challenging puzzles and the voice of GLADoS, I could listen to over and over again. I like the voice actresses. 2nd choice for GotY. I own it and I feel like playing it again and again.
Halo 3, I don't think that Halo 3 is the greatest FPS ever, truly. I mean, story's cool and all, gameplay's neat, but really, if you compare it to Counter-Strike, I think CS wins out. Graphics may suck, but I think the ability that allows you to create your own gamemodes through programming and such, it makes it so much more fun. Superhero Mod is cool. My 4th choice for GotY.
And I think the one that probably deserves it most, would be Guitar Hero 3, no doubt. Nothing, nothing, nothing, is cooler than GH3. Rock Band, just took the GH concept and made it for Bass, Drums. Vocals are like from Kareoke Revolution. So GH3, not the best songlist of the series, but if you ask me, they did pretty good. Through the Fire and Flames, hard work, fun song to play when you're bored.
And to answer your second question: I'm ready for MGS4, like a snake waiting to catch its prey. I, sadly, don't have a PS3 or 360. The reason why I know about Halo 3 and AC are because one of my friends owns both systems and games, and we played it. If anything, if I were to buy a 360, I'd get just Dead Rising. Been out for a while, but I like the game.

I couldn't really choose a favorite game. I would have to say Call of Duty 4 with the PS3 was awesome same with Heavenly sword. I have gotten a lot of amusement out of the game singstar for the ps2

it looks amazing, the gameplay is amazing ven tho it is repetitive, the voice acting is superb.
the story is brilliant
the best game of the year, but not by a massive amount
call of duty 4 was a very close second

Mass Effect is one of the best games I have ever played. I absolutely love it, I'm on my 4th playthrough. But thats for single player, for multiplayer I'll have to go with Call of Duty 4. As for MGS4, for me its kind of a wait and see.
