Why are people saying things like "probably even more so" and "of course"? Is Y!A full of ignorant and prejudiced idiots? And what does "that's just the culture" mean? That's just a stupid comment. The "culture" of Mexico is not to abuse women. Domestic violence happens everywhere. There is no country in the world that is free of that. Once you start trying to make it one country's problem that's when it becomes racist.

Try speaking with a lawyer in the states about what her options may be. Are there battered women's shelters in Queretaro? If so, she needs to go to one and start keeping track of his threats without her knowing it. Also, is she a Mexican or United States citizen? Is there anyway she could just leave and take the kids with her without him knowing and take out a restraining order against him in the states? Has she tried to get a restraining order in Mexico? I'm so sorry about this situation. :(

I believe Mexico has an outrageous stats in domestic violence. One thing for sure there is if they get found guilty of murder and is sentenced to death, they don't sit longer then 2yrs before they are injected lethally.

Likely. Domestic violence happens more often in less developed countries. People are poor and they are not happy, there are less educated people.
