Like, I know theyre giving birth, but what does the term, "my water broke" actually mean, and what happens?

it means the placenta has broken, enabling the baby to begin traveling down the birth canal - some liquid is usually released when this happens, hence the term water

The baby is in an amniotic sac (fluid) inside of the mother. That protects the baby during pregnancy. When her water breaks, that sac expels all the fluid and it's ready for the baby to be born soon.

One time my water broke.I was scared. So I asked my mom what was happening!?It looked like I was peeing,but i wasnt. I was giving birth!So if this happens, it is easy to tell,your giving birth.

the amniotic liquid in which the baby was living just poured out. so the baby needs to be delivered soon
