Do the math, John! How many seconds are there in 5,000 years?
Let's see.
60 sec 60 min 24 365 days 5000 years = 157680000000 s.
1 min 1 hour 1 day 1 year
That works out to 0.03627 cents per second. Not TOO bad! *grin*
It's one of the OLDEST relics of human history. *shrug*
This is just MORE evidence that archaeology doesn't pay by-the-inch! *laughter*

Only if you check all bags at the front door and all pockets at the back door.
Wow, can you imagine what a burdensome 3" that would be...

If it is worth that much to that person, then yes.
Whether it is for aesthetic reasons or for investment purposes is of little import.
It harms nobody, and that person is free to spend their money they see fit.

Do you know how many people can eat with 57.2 million dollars. It should have been placed in a museum and not sold to the public.

I wouldn't do it even if I had that kind of money. But to each their own. Does seem wasteful to me though.
