Johnny Depp, looks aside-
This guy was the ultimate "teen idol" he had the looks and all the girls loved him. Instead of embracing this and taking all the easy "hero" type roles like most other "teen idol" actors had, he shied away from it. He wanted to challenge himself as an actor and as a result he took up such roles in "Edward Scissorhands", "Charlie and the Chocolate factory" and "Pirates of the Carribean" just to show off his range. That is a true actor.
Also yes, he is known as one of the sexiest male actors of our time....
