When Brady was at Michigan, they also had Drew Henson. In Retrospect, that doesn't seem like much but he was the top rated qb coming out of HS and he demanded that he play his freshman year to any team that recuited him. Brady wasn't a highly recruited player and hadn't played much when Michigan got Henson, so Michigan had no problem forcing him to share time. Brady isn't fast, doesn't have a big arm or any of the real tangible assets scouts look for in a qb, so he got overlooked. That despite the fact he led a number of 4th quarter comebacks his senior year including back from 14 down twice in the Orange Bowl against Shawn Alexander and Alabama.

And for the guy wondering about Chad Henne- No Way

With Tee Martin winning the national championship and Marc Bulger also coming out, those were the only two that should have went in front of Brady during the draft. The other three I have no clue as to why. Pennington and the rest probably shouldn't have. I wonder if Henne will have a career like Brady since we are talking about a Michigan QB who played just as well as he did in college? Makes me wonder...

Yeah, but look at all the other QBs that did the exact same thing and MORE and didn't make it in the NFL. Brian Griese won the entire NCAA championship the year before, and look how HE did! Besides, HE did not win those games all by himself. He was not even a Heisman candidate. What Michigan QB hasn't been All Big-Ten at some point in their career? Some, but few. The truth is that Tom Brady really did not stand out that much in college, relatively speaking.

You are correct! The same reason Joe Montana was drafted so low. Tom can't throw very well, he can't run, he can't read defenses, all he can do is WIN THE GAME. He's the greatest quarterback of all time.

Simply...He stinks. We're only talking about Brady this season so much because they paid for the weapons around him. W/out moss and Welker, (which actually make him look great) they win that corny division they're in, but it 'd be the same conversation about brady. He 's in the playoffs .... (courtesy the NY Jets and Dolphins), but they havent' beaten anyone this season. Favre to really have no great offensive receiver should be MVP.

Take a look at Romo, I lived 10 minutes from him in highschool and he sucked there too. People in my area were shocked as Hell that he was in teh NFL.

Props to him now, but determination and will don't show up on draft day...they come out on the field.

Nobody thought he was that good. Plain and simple, that's all. And he wasn't until he spent a few years learning as an NFL sideline hero.

He wasn't a stand out player, that demonstrated alot of potential....

He was forced into the job and developed the skills that were not apparent when he was drafted.....

Good coaching and ALOT of hard work to bring that talent to the forefront......

His 40 yard dash was also unimpressive. You know, teams really care a lot about the 40 yard dash, even for quarterbacks.
