I just heard that on Mike and the Maddog,,First Matsui has a no trade clause in his contract, they have to get the ok from him! Second, when we got Matsui it opened up the yankees to the Japanese market! Now my opinion,,I'll be honest with you. Matsui has been TERRIBLE in the last 2 yrs! Mostly in the post season. He never comes through in a clutch,Don't get me wrong,i love the guy,He just didn't turn out to be the Godzilla he was labled in japan! I say make the trade.

If the Yankees would do the trade why not. The Giants are in need of offense. But on the other hand Matsui is getting older and I think the Giants are trying to get younger.

I doubt that will happen because the Yankees do have young talent in Chamberlain, Hughes, and Ian Kennedy. Even if they don't get Johna Santana, they'll still have Chamberlain who is arguably the best player of those three.

New York won't give up Matsui because his left handed bat is valuable in an outfield in which Johnny Damon will likely be the DH in '08. Matsui is a middle of the order guy. Why would the Giants want to get older, they need youth on their team. That potential deal doesn't make sense.

Matsui a San Francisco Giant? Not if the Yankees have something to say about it. Sanchez a New York Yankee? Don't see it happening.

i would like to see this happen, Matsui, is on the decline, and playing in the NL would give him better numbers. Damon should be in left. I dont believe shelley duncan is an every day player either. I have heard, and would like to see, matsui, and duncan for lowry and sanchez. if Matsui, waives the no trade clauss. this would also free up the DH spot, for giambi. i would rather have matsui full time dh, no one is taking giambi though. Matsui, was just dreadful the past 2 post seasons

He has a no trade anyway like the one girl said. Why would he waive that to go to the San Francisco Giants...the 5th best team in their own division. They have a good starting staff but their lineup is beyond brutal. If I was Matsui, I would put all this talk to rest and tell them I'm not going anywhere unless it's to the Boston Red Sox or Detroit Tigers.

I don't see that kind of the trade that Giants didn't have the willing to trade Sanchez for Matsui. Nothing to see that.

I am a Giants fan and haven't heard this rumor...how ever I think it would be good for the Giants because the Giants desperately need offense and Sanchez has been batling injuries and has struggled with his command. I don't think the Yankees would make that trade, though.

I don't see it either. Matsui's too good to let go, although he has, uncharacteristically, been hurt each of the last two years. I don't see Sanchez providing equal or better value.

I don't see the Yankees making that trade.
