Lord of the Rings. First time I read it, it took 3 days.
I kinda couldn't put it down. Actually fell asleep into book :-)

Les Miserables [English translation, unabridged] which was about 1000 pages I think - and contains the longest sentence in literature! Brilliant book if you can ignore the ridiculous coincidences and Victor Hugo's tendency to go off on 18 chapter-long tangents.
Still haven't worked myself up to War and Peace or Remebrance of Things Past yet, though :)

If you count all three Lord of the Rings books as one, then the Lord of the Rings.
Otherwise, it would be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I read it in 10 hours straight.
Unless Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is longer. My version is about 700 pages, but the book is physically larger than the Harry Potter books.

If you're not counting Harry Potter, East of Eden would be the longest book I've ever read. It took me 9 days to read it and I loved it!

Milton's 'paradise lost'= may not be the longest book around but it took me the longest to read- since every page has as many references as sentences in it, since it was for a Uni exam, and i had to understand the references, it took forever ( wayyy! not worth it)!

As I'm a German girl I read books in German. One of the longest was "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". In German it is called "Harry Potter und der Orden des Phönix" and has 1020 pages. "Der Schwarm" (English: "The swarm") was also quite long, in German about 960 pages.

What felt like the longest book was The Tommyknockers by Stephen King - absolute pile of poo.

Has to be a Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela. It probably seemed longer though because it was so involved. Great read
