Despite trying everything I can not get any other computer to link to this PC over a LAN. Whatever I do the network cable unplugged icon will not go away! My suspicion is that the AOL softrware has completely taken over all networking for itself to connect to the internet and will not allow any other network.

I suspect you are correct, I simply remove all the AOL connection and software, on a LAN you don't need it anyway.

I have had all sorts of issues when the AOL dialers and software have been installed -- wish they would just leave the system alone but it does appear that they don't!

Understand that is just my experience but I have been at it for years and that seems very consistent!

Merry Christmas and God Bless
