Yes, and this is the only way to completely liberate the inner feminine. Freeing yourself from the mind does not mean going into nothingness. Freeing yourself from the mind means going into the heart.
We have two ways of processing information: the mind (intellect) and the heart (intuition). Patriarchal society trains us to elevate the mind and suppress the heart, to the point where we think there is nothing but the mind. The goal of spiritual growth is to get back to a balance between the mind and the heart. This is the "alchemical marriage" and the source of wisdom.
When I first tried to liberate my inner feminine, I was running the mind (my masculine program) 24 hrs a day trying to liberate my heart (my feminine program). Finally I realized that the mind could not by its own effort liberate the heart ---because the continuous effort of the mind was using up all the time and not allowing any free space for the heart to surface into full consciousness.
It's as if you have two programs on your computer, but one is using the active window all of the time, not giving the other program any chance to run, except in the background.
Even if what the dominant program is working on is trying to liberate the hidden program, the only way to do that is for the dominant program to voluntarily pause or shut down and allow the hidden program to emerge.
When I succeeded in doing this the change was remarkable. I was outside of verbal consciousness and able to apprehend things directly instead of as mental constructs with arbitrary names.
I am not saying that heart is better than mind or that it should be afforded more time. I am saying that heart is equal to mind and should be afforded equal time.
Meditation, or centering, is the key. Going into the center of yourself is going into your heart. One technique that might help you on the journey is to imagine that your mind is a theater and your thoughts are ham actors all jumping in front of each other to stand in the spotlight. The spotlight is your attention. You are the director. Everytime a thought comes, the director says, "Clear the stage!"

At best we can distract our self to the point of not been aware we’re aware, like when playing some intense sport where it is all reaction and no thought. Or maybe when we incapacitate it with drugs. I walk blind. How could you be aware with out your mind? So even if you did free yourself from your mind for awhile, you wouldn’t be aware of it. Even when we sleep there is some part of our mind that knows where we are. That is why concussions are so scary.

Buy a copy of "Getting in the Gap" by Dr. Wayne W.Dyer. To quote Dr. Dyer, "The gap is an exquisite place! The gap is owned by everyone on this planet. It's yours to enter at will. What awaits you in the gap is the experience of activating the higher human dimensions of insight, intuition, creativity, and peak performance; as well as coming to know relaxation, enchantment, bliss, and the peace of making conscious with your higher power". Let me add that this is a book for all people, not just Christians.

Absolutely, the mind is an activity a doing, thinking, questioning, quantifying, assessing, competing, identifying.
To "drop" the mind into the feeling heart is liberation, freedom, to be.
Truth and freedom is of the Heart of all, never mind.
Bright blessings
Peace in the heart

Great question!
I think the mind is free when one is asleep. It is in this stage no one could disturb because it is in the vegetative state trying to gain energies for the exhausted day. The mind then is free from thinking.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

Yes. You can. You can empty it of yourself and fill with peaceful thoughts by Meditation. Try Yoga, I'm sure a learned person like you knows what it is. It really help you forget yourself and fill your mind (and body) with energy (however brief that may be).

Just for you.. My mind is focused on this question..The other half is still waiting ..I can free myself when I want to.. but its the wanting to and the waiting that is pulling me apart. Are you sure you arent a psychiatrist? You ask some in depth things here and some that hit me to the core as in you seem to ask things that pertain to me Rena.. weird...?

Do you mean can you become so involved in something that you are no longer conscious of yourself? I can't but other people can. Do you mean can you free yourself of your own personality and the nagging thoughts in your head? No, you are your brain.
