The main form of fast transportation in those days was a river. Forts were usually built along rivers, anybody traveling down the river would have to have permission or the forts cannon would sink them. The people in the fort controlled all the river traffic.
That's why Fort Duquesne was built near the confluence of three rivers. ( Fort Duquesne became Fort Pitt, which became Pittsburgh)
Forts were also used as supply bases for farther exploration and if the people working, farming etc, outside the fort, were attacked, they could run to the fort for protection.

because of the fact the Brits gained the conflict. the triumphing view of heads of state at that factor replace into that the Indian tribes have been savages. for this reason the British began a propaganda campaign to make it look as though the British have been battling the Indians and the French to make France look undesirable for allying with Indians. the certainty whether is that the two the English and the French allied with somewhat some Indian tribes.

Because forts are a lot easier to defend than towns.

If they had sentries up high on each side they could see the enemy coming from all directions. Having all the people all together in one place made it easier to keep them safe also. And as they say, "there is safety in numbers".
