We shouldn't believe either. The NIE is consistantly wrong.

Aviator is incorrect. The entire world thought Saddam had WMD. He wanted everyone to think he had them. Why else would he try to foil the UN inspectors? Doesn't anyone remember? Why do Liberals Cherry pick instead of looking at the entire picture?
Maybe he had them and moved them....no one on here knows, but they act like they know everything.

The Liberals want to believe Bush lied. If this one turns out to be incorrect, they'll blame Bush for never doing anything about it. They love the Monday morning political attacks. Ever hear one give a solution beforehand with simply attacking the Republican plan? "It doesn't go far enough" is the usual Liberal rant.

The sources.
The one about Sadam was based on a defector from Iraq, that person was only a trainee and did not have access.
But Bush and Cheney took that information and ran with it. They forced Colin Powell to go to the U.N. with that highly questionable information and make a case for going to war.
The decision would have been made to go to war with Iraq, regardless of what the Intelligence showed.
Bush would have done the same with Iran, if he could get away with it.

that's actual quite a stable question. refer to my question on the politicization of the NIE the day gone by. it is not proper that such severe artwork might properly be concern to the whims of politicians. it is actual what occurred interior the Saddam case and clearly the NIE have discovered their lesson, merely like James Baker, a kin buddy of the Bush's now announcing the conflict improve into incorrect and predicated on falsehoods.

One was contrary to what a lot of other country's intelligence was, the other is in line with other countries. NIE reports are just general assessments. But when it seems to be the same as a lot of other assessments, the overall picture is that it is probably accurate.

Becuase the NIE report which stated Saddam's WMD capability was altered by the White House prior to release.
The Iran-nuke program NIE was not altered by the White House and released against Dick Cheney's wishes. You can probably thank Condi for that.
Dick is old, but Condi is still fairly young and has a reputation to salvage.

I believe the second one because it didn't pass through the hands of Cheney before it went to congress, senate and the media. And, it completely agrees with all other foreign intelligence agencies findings and the UN findings. BTW, Hans Blix and Scott Ritter already came out last year at this time and said Iran didn't have nukes. They also knew that Saddam didn't have WMD's too. They have been right all along and Bush has been lying all along. Got the point?
