I believe it exists. Age regression hypnosis therapy is a type of hypnosis that can be used to trance the subject into an unconscious state, then the latent mind is examined with questions of whether the soul had previous lives or not. Googling "age regression hypnosis therapy" and your area should return results if you're interested.
In terms of diversity, I'm not absolutely certain, but the examples I've heard of have been similar in gender and race. One absolutely phenomenal example was of a little boy who claimed to be a WWII pilot who'd died in a plane crash..he was able to give the names of all the men in his troop, and knew personal facts about the man that only select other people in other parts of the country knew. He was taken to a troop reunion, and all the men accepted him as the pilot, truly believing their old comrade was back in the world again.
It's fascinating stuff...and I'm Christian, too; I believe that the idea of the soul going to Heaven can co-exist with the notion of being reincarnated after some time; I don't find any reason why the two ideas can't live in harmony and be possible in the afterlife. After all, living anywhere - even paradise - for eternity's gotta be tough on one's soul...so why not always have it as a place of residency and take trips onto Earth every so often? It's fascinating, and there's no single right answer - nor can anyone disprove anything. That is my take on it, in summary.

no, not necessarily, but you do carry your soul imprint, that is your unique personality, wether you have darkness or light, you carry it in your soul imprint, it is so strong that every molecule in your body carries your previous carnations, for example if you died of a heart attack you might be born with a weak heart,
they say that we carry our soul imprint in every cell of our body, that's why it's not recommnded to donate organs becos the person receiving will also be carrying the other persons's characterisics, that's why sometimes people change after they have surgery & accept an organ donation.
PS. I belive in reincarnation becos firstly it makes sense that someone who does so much evil & gets away with it all their life will be bron again to "pay" for it. (well, that;'s not the spiritual term for it, but put harshly that is what it is. Actually, they have to come back to correct their mistakes & also become better people. Secondly, reincarnation accounts for why some people are born rich, some crippled, etc.. not to say that the rich person is necessarily a better person than the crippled as some souls incarnate cripppled as a sacrifice to help humanity go forwardsbut the karmic past affects the future ones...

A state of consciousness is reincarnated. We're all one. Seeing eachother as seperately disticnt beings is an illusion.
If you put your mind and the effort into it, you could bring someone to a similar awareness level to your own.

So a level of awareness can reincarnate. i.e.be reproduced in a new body.

I've read 2 different books in the back of my UNI library, found at random.
One about a fakir called Shirdi Sai Baba, and another about
Sathya Narayana Raja. This last one claims to be the reincarnation of the first.

One saying from the East is that you should be good to all living things, because at one point in time they lived as your mother.

Some believe that karma earned in this life will determine what the next life you lead will be- whether you get to be another human, or a hungry ghost, an animal, a spirit or a god... others believe that we can reincarnate closely to the people we loved in our previous life- eg the dead grandfather gets born again as his daughter's son- or that lovers will be reborn together, meeting and loving again forever in each new lifetime...

Really, we're talking belief systems here- I'm not going to tell you what's real and what's not, what you embrace is your own business.

I believe everything has a spirit so being human is definately not the end of the line, once we've perfected ourselves, or proved ourselves as worthy spirits we move on.

We were once a spirit of something very insignificant then moving up to a plant or tree then insects, eventually to animals where we have more of a personality, to human, then a nature spirit, spirit of place, country...developing further your spirit can become a moon, then a planet, or manifesting itself as a whole new species of life on a planet, eventually ending in becoming a star, then a galexy I guess. Its all about the evolution of a spirit, to become worthy enough, strong enough, creative enough to be in control of something far greater. to eventully comune with the gods and become at one with god.

The soul that is inherently human, usually stays human throughout it's life cycles. I've been a poor citizen in ancient Rome and a noble in medieval England. So you can be just about anyone. Your soul decides what you will do before you return to earth.

I knew the answer when I was a cat in my last life. Unfortunately, as a human, I'm just not as smart. Either way, be careful what you ask, it may determine what you come back as next time.

(PS - I think it is all whoooey, but Shirley Mclain may be sane.)

I don't know if it helps but my 5 year old often cries for her old family, she has described their home the type of country and the food and the animals where they worked the lot. to me and other members of our family. She also talks excitedly about finding her new family in the future.
It is impossible for her to know some of the details she has given but we have to believe her because she is relying on us too.

Like the changing of the seasons, reincarnation is a necessary cycle of growth. As with plants growing older, our spirits grow wiser with each lifetime, learning more about what it means to be. Through this cycle of spiritual development, our spirits eventually become enlightened which will leave them to ascend to a higher enlightened dimensional phase / the Summerlands / Avalon / Heaven.

Whilst we continue on our cycle of development, the lessons we still require to learn, such as humility, patience, selflessness, compassion, etc. will be provided to us by means of being born again into a race, gender and potential web of experiences to help us overcome our lesson of development. ;)

As a brief example, we are always accepting of pleasant experiencing, though rejecting of unpleasant ones. All experiences are essential in learning more about ourselves and others, as well as how to resolve potentially unpleasant situations. By accepting all situations and doing our best to overcome them successfully, we progress in our development and thus speed along our "schedule" of spiritual lessons.

Some who have reached higher levels of enlightenment and understanding chose to reincarnate to act as guides to others who were not yet at those stages of development in order to ensure that all human spirits complete the lessons necessary to become enlightened.

Just my humble opinion, which is yours to accept or reject. :)
