Have you ever had to bag your own groceries at the store, because they didn't want to pay enough employees to get the job done?

I have, and actually, what bothers me even more than that is having to wait in line for 45 minutes because they dont' want to pay enough people to have more than 3 lanes open at any given time.

Hey, not only did I bag my own at Dollar General, i hadda BUY the bags.

Nice ones, though, much better than at U-Save. And even then I spent about half of the cost of Publix.

I notice these stores focus on low-income neighborhoods. Guess what? I don't care, as long as I get good products I know and they are within the "Purchase by" date periods, at LOW prices. I cut my monthly grocery bill in HALF going there. What, I need SERVANTS to make shopping happy?

What country would someone live in to think that low-paid servants are necessary to life? NOT the U.S. Yuppies and your children, go back to Europe!

Yes I always do, as some of our shops are starting to charge for the plastic bags. I have several and one is a thermal bag. As I visit several shops on shopping day I will take a regular soft one or two into the shop, and when I get back to the car I will take out the fresh and frozen stuff and put into the thermal bag. I use a couple of 'ice bricks' to keep the temperature down, and have it zipped closed.

I always bag my own groceries even when there is a person there, mostly because they always squish my bread and eggs and they put 2 things in each bag. I'm an organized shopper. I like to organize the bags into freezer/refrigerator stuff, etc.

Bagged a skinhead last night. But seriously, I had to bag my own groceries on Sunday because all the baggers were taking a break at Vons!

We have a store called Save-a-lot...no baggers or bags unless you buy them. It is cost effective for the store and I don't ***** about the way I bag them...I have a Yahoo save the Planet bag and boxes always ready in the van.

Well, not because they did not want to pay the employees to do it, but to save money.

I did it all the time at a place called "Bag N' Save".

I do it al the time at our local Food 4 Less. I like it because I can use my own shopping bags instead of those obnoxious plastic ones you get at the Walmarts and their kind.

At the market I go to everyone bags their own groceries. Doesn't bother me at all. At least I know my bread won't get squished.
