Babies move very early, but you may not feel anything for a long time. I didn't fell anything till I was half way done with my 2nd trimester, and I still have to be very still to fell the baby move, and I'm 25 weeks along.

Amazingly an unborn baby starts to physically move by about 10 weeks of the pregnancy. This is when all their large muscles have developed, forming a thickened layer of padding between their bones and skin. Their movements begin as jerky and uncoordinated actions of their arms and legs, becoming more purposeful as they mature.

"Most" women feel fetal movement (quickening) at 18 weeks if it is their first baby. Some multiparas (those who have already carried a child to term) feel movement earlier, simply because they know what it feels like. The normal range is 16 to 20 weeks (LMP).

A baby's first movements in the uterus are actually quite early. I think it is around 8 weeks but I could be off. Obviously at this time bubs is way too small for the mother to feel it. It usually around week 20 (give or take) when the first movements are felt. Women who have been pregnant before may feel the movements earlier.

Around 7-8 weeks is when the baby starts developing their arm and leg buds so this helps them be able to move around. With first pregnancies the mom usually feels the baby for the first time at around 20 weeks. With my son I was 21 weeks and with my daughter last year I was 12 weeks when I started feeling movement. When I went in for my 12 week ultra sound she was extremely active.

Babies move from the beginning, but you can't usually feel them until they get bigger. With the first they say between 18 and 22 weeks usually, but with the ones after it can be earlier. I personally didn't know for sure it was her until I was about 22 weeks.

good luck!

It's usually the end of the third month or in the fourth. In the fourth you will deffinatly notice the baby being active for periods of time.
