" A Baby For Doc"

The residents of Dodge City were getting ready for the annual Christmas Dance.
Doc:" (2) Deck the Halls and hop to it, my good fellows!!'
Festus squinted his right eye at Doc.
Festus: " Doc, you old scutter!! Why don't you stop barking out orders and pick up a hammer to help?!" He turned to the men that were working hard.....(3) "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. It's time to take a break. Doc, here, has offered to buy us lunch at Delmonicos, since he ain't pitching in!!"
Before Doc could bash Festus in the head with a nearby bucket, they put down their tools and ran across the street to the restaurant.

As everyone grabbed a table, the waiter started taking their orders.
Waiter:" And what would you gents like to have?"
Burke:" Hmmmm.....Since Doc is footing the bill, (4) We Three Kings would like the House Special.....(1) "Silent Night Pickled Pot Roast" with a side order of "Holy Night Fried Turnip Greens."
He turned to Louis Pheeters who was still coming off a two day drunk."Don't that sound good, Louis old boy?"
Louis put his hand over his mouth and ran out back to vomit........ His stomach (and liver) were too bloated with alcohol to even THINK about food, much less ingest it!
As a disgruntled Doc entered the restaurant, a cheer went up!
Festus :" Doc....This suuuuure is nice of you." He did little to conceal his smirk.
Just then, the waiter walked past Festus with a tray filled with drinks. He tripped on an out-stretched foot and the contents soon covered Festus' head.
Doc took out a toothpick and chewed on it. As he left Delmonicos he was heard to mutter: (5) "Joy to the World."

On his way over to his office, he saw something that caught his eye. He walked over to the alley between U.S.Marshal Matt Dillon's office and the General Store.
He saw a basket. Curious, he peered in......"What? Oh my gracious.....(6) What Child is This?"

It was a silent night so we three kings decided to have a few beers and deck the halls. We spread joy to the world for many hours and then God said "rest ye merry gentlemen" so that the women of the town can get some sleep. Nine months later there was a great cry "What child is this?"

It was a silent night, and we three kings decked the halls with delight. Then we heard a voice, "What child is this?" a man's voice asked looking to the manger....we answered "He is Joy to the world!" and the man smiled, and said "God rest Ye merry Gentlemen" and he trotted off.

It was a silent night, and the traveler stopped in the dingy inn. "Deck the Halls!", the owner cried, and a servant brought the man something to eat. The maid asked him if he wanted to stay for the night, and if he wanted to rent a room. "Yes", he said "But only for one, my friends will come later". "God rest Ye Merry, Gentleman", said the girl while showing her room. The man entrusted her with a little casket, asking her to keep it safe. The girl accepted. It was only some perfume, she thought. She stayed the night away: the stranger seemed rich, his clothes expensive, but battered. He had travelled for a long time, it seemed. The sleep finally caught her, and she awoke a bit later that morning. She ran to give the casket back. "Thank you lady", said the man. "But...", said the maiden "Who are you?" "Haven't you noticed?", said the man. "Wait for my two friends and you'll know. We Three Kings came from a distant, faraway land". The two friends arrived, the lady was dumbfounded and suprised. She knew them! She saw them every day in that month, when she helped the priest in setting out the Nativity. "But you..." "We'll bring Joy to the World, because a child is born" "Wait... what Child is This? I saw the statuettes, and that Child was born so much time ago" The stranger gave a corteous smile to the girl "That Child lives on, in every child born in the world, as child you were yourself, and as Child you were in trusting an old stranger without suspicions"
