I used sulfuric acid to clear my upstairs bathroom sink drain. The drain seems almost clear, but now I have water leaking in my kitchen downstairs from the celing. There is like a trap door in my celing and i'm assuming pipes are under it? It's a very slow leak, just dripping. I'm wondering do I need to call the plumber today, or should I watch and wait and see if it stops on it's own by tommrow? Thanks :-)

I would call the plumber immediately. Apparently there is a hole in the piping somewhere, and the sulfuric acid must have eaten through whatever was clogging that hole. I doubt that it'll stop leaking on its own, not to mention that acid is probably leaking into your kitchen right now.

I suspect the sulfuric acid has eaten through the pipes or seals creating a leak. I do not think sulfuric acid is considered safe on plumbing. Also possible that the leak was already there and the clog was preventing the water from reaching it. - Call the plumber.

Call a plumber! The acid has eaten through the drain pipe on the tub or sink (or both!) Your ceiling is in serious trouble if the leak(s) is not fixed soon! Or do it yourself if you are a "do it yourselfer!"
If it's the tub, it's A LOT of work, best to call a professional!

It iwll not stop on it's own, the acid has more than likely eaten through the pipes or gaskets. You should never use acid in pipes no matter what anyone tells you. It should be cleaned manually and use some sort of a screen to keep hair from washing down the drain.

The acid ate through one of your pipes or through a seal, call the plumber, it will only get worse. next time try bleach and let it set overnight

I dont think he would go through all that trouble just to get a new sink - im sure his hard earned cash could go elsewhere (even though if i had his money i would end up just buying a new house lol) So I will say A!

Everyone remember this the next time you want to pour this crap in your drain to get it unclogged!!!
Much better for the environment, the house and everyone in the house to use mechanical means when you have a drain clog.

Yea to Yoda for that answer!!
