because people marry for the wrong reasons!

I'm betting a decent percentage of that has to do with money, arguments over finances and not being in a stable place. And I think that some people get married just to get married, like they want to be married so badly but it ends up being the wrong person, or people rush into a marriage without genuinely getting to know the other person.

Lots of reasons.
Too many get married too young.
Too many get married before getting to know one another.
Too many marry the wrong people.
Sometimes they marry for the wrong reason, like for money or looks.
Too many people are having babies out of wedlock. Just because you're having the guy's baby, or just because she's having your baby doesn't always mean marriage is the best thing. But maybe you should've thought about that BEFORE getting pregnant!
Too many don't want to put any kind of work into marriage. They would rather just give up. MARRIAGE IS HARD. IT TAKES WORK.
There are more reasons. Too many reasons!

Because people change and so do things around them. In the past it has taken 100's of years for things to change, now it happens almost overnight, and we have to adapt. Everyone can not do that or adapt in different ways. Thus, their relationship falls apart.

lust reasons, physical attraction, getting married too early, getting married before REALLY getting to know them, failing to understanding your spouse's point of view, etc...list is endless and everyone's case is different. Pity, isn't it, all these divorces--for the kids and the adults.

probably because most americans get married only because she got pregenant, for the skae of the child. then later, they just cant stand each other anymore and get divorced. they just dont really think about it, then they want out

Because people get married while they are in infatuation. Then they fall out of infatuation after they see their spouse's real side. There was never love.
