Common that is all we heard from liberals and democrats that Kerry was better than Bush because he served in Vietnam and same for Al Gore.
Well McCain is running and there are no vets on the DNC side so you guys all must be behind him right?
Or have the rules now change yet again?

The anology does hold up.
We keep hearing about Chickhawk Bush this and that.
I am not going to dig up all the quotes because we all know they are there.
2004 Was the battle cry of the DNC was Kerry was a real vet and Bush wasn't.
I can see most have proven my point the rules have change since the DNC front runner are not vets.

Not only is he a vet, and served honorably and comes from a family lineage of patriots from his father who was a vice admiral to his sons who serve. One as a marine, one in his last year in the naval academy, one who flew the a-6 and is now an officer flying the 777. I don't care what ANY of you dem wussies say, ron paul needs to get some BALLS and visit our troops. So What, he served 5 yrs in the air force, so did I for 7 but that doesn't make me qualified to run a company. He's not even in the top 4 with only 6%? of the polls, big deal. Ya'll are throwing your money and time away as he runs all the way to the bank, as your contributions aren't tax deductable and he comes out with millions more in his bank account. DUH.
McCain is #2 in the polls, or at least getting ready to overrun huckabee and then your "hero" guliani is next. You see, McCain is a PATRIOT, and when a patriot has a purpose and goal it's gonna get done. When pared up against Hillary, he kicks her a##.
All you younger folks are gonna get taught a lesson that the silent majority ALWAYS pulls the rabbit out of the hat.

How many Democrats did you hear say that. I remember Kerry was being attacked by people who said he was no hero and a coward. I heard it said Bush was the biggest coward because he was running and hiding and not going to fight for his country. There are other issues that are just as important or more important to some.
McCain seems like a good man but he is 100% behind Bush. This country can't take more of the same failed policies.

There is more then one veteran running for the Republican ticket. Ron Paul served five years in the Air Force. He is getting my vote, not because he is veteran so much, as because he wants us out of our Unconstitutional war that we are in right now. I find that very reassuring that we have someone that is able to discern the Constitution that also knows about military life. I don't think that a military career is necessary to be a good president but I don't think that it can hurt either as long as you balance it good with the knowledge of the Constitution.

Actually, I think it is sad that no one else besides McCain served in the military. One of the key roles of the president is to be commander-in-chief of the military. With the exception of McCain, both Democrats and Republicans should be ashamed for their lack of military service.

Liberals usually vote against anything that is pro-military! Think Jane Fonda!

The only candidate (Rep not Dem) who has proven himself in time of crisis is Rudy, and I don't believe he served in the military. I served in the Air Force but that doesn't mean I can handle a national crisis. A proven track record is of much more value than military service with no heroic or crisis experience. That in no way demeans military service, it just is a bonus if you have been proven in crisis for the job!

In NYC one used to have to be a vet to sell hot dogs on the street or drive a city cab. But a pro draft dodger can be pres? I think something's wrong.

Do you walk to school, or do you carry your lunch?
I actually liked McCain a lot when he ran against Bush, but now that he's running AS Bush, not so much.

Sorry, but being a vet was never a "rule" in the first place.
McCain is a senile, nationalistic warhawk. Sorry, but my vote will go somewhere else.

There's one glaring difference between McCain and Kerry that I think you're overlooking.
McCain didn't shoot himself in order to win the purple heart.
Therefore, democrats will never vote for him.
