If you are talking about one that you wear I highly suggest the Baby Bjorn Brand. We have had really good luck with this one and I have heard a family member complain about their evenflo one not feeling very safe. I would aso go try on a few and see what feels comfortable for you. Something that works for one persons body might not work for another.

My baby is just 4 months, but this still works for her. You can make your own really easily!
I went to Wal-Mart and got a clearance piece of fabric (for $2 a yard) that was a breathable cotton stretch. It needs to be 15 feet long, and about a foot across (you may want it a little wider since your baby is older). The fabric I got didn't need to be hemmed because it rolls at the edges.
Then go to the Moby Wrap's Web site. They have instructions on how to wrap all the different types. It works really really well and my baby loves hers! Hope this helps!

in the long-term particular, they could starve or have intense clinical subject concerns and delays because of the fact they are actually not getting the nutrition they choose. in the fast term the flaws you point out might help a 6 month previous. No way for a 2 week previous, whether you acquire it down they might throw all of it back up and alter into greater dehydrated cuz there digestive structures are not waiting for it. you've got greater desirable success with a three month previous whether it nonetheless would not be sufficient and there might nonetheless be vomiting. people look to miss that breast milk and formulation have each thing in it that a toddler desires to be nourished. i'm working with a relatives proper now who purely desperate formulation replace into too high priced for their 6 month previous and are purely giving him cows milk. And there reasoning replace into its all milk proper? Like formulation is purely powdered milk or something : ( .

If your baby is under 26 lbs, I highly recommend the Baby Bjorn Active. It has a lumbar support, and the way the carrier is designed, it spreads the baby weight evenly, making it way more comfortable.
I've traveled a LOT with my baby girl and used until she was about a year. She is 14 months and is under the weight limit, but to me, she's SO big and I need to use a stroller! I loved my Bjorn and can't wait to use it with future kids.
The best part is when you are on the plane and can keep them in the Bjorn. Your hands are free and they can sleep on you. :)
Good luck!

STAY AWAY FROM BABY BJORN!! You'll be crippled, lol.
The Sling Awards:
http://www.babyhawk.com
Best Soft Carrier (I use mine every day with my one year old and don't have a pushchair/stroller)
http://didymos.de/english/index.php
Best Wrap (I use mine most days, best for back and hip carries when baby wants to nap, wonderful fabric, well worth it)
http://www.hotslings.com
Best Pouch (I'm not the biggest pouch fan but these are the best)
Totally superior to any 'baby carrier' honestly. Wonderful and fun. If none of these float your boat, a lot of my friends use ergos, though I can't speak from personal experience, I've heard men like ergos better because they have manly buckles ;)

GOOD LUCK!!!! Let me know what you think!!!

i asked for a Baby Bjorn Brand carrier for christmas. I am not sure what the weight goes up to. I have a friend that has a 7 month old and she carries him in that all the time.

I think the Baby Bjorns are the best. They are a bit pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. I got a cheaper one and it was so difficult to get the baby in and out of it required 2 people to use!

I liked the Didymos. I carried my daughter in it almost constantly until she was walking, and then occasionally until she was nearly 4. It can be tricky to learn how to tie it on at first. Practicing in front of a mirror helps.
This site has lots of good info on the different carriers:
