I may try to get a job at Mcdonalds, Burgerking or other fast food places to pay for my college expenses. Let's say I apply as a cook, making sandwiches.
- Will they hire you for that position or will they hire you for another position?
- If hired as a cook, will they make you work the counter?
- If hired as a cook, will they make you work the drive through (I difinitely don't want to work the drive through)?
- How much are cooks paid at Mcdonalds, Burger King, etc.?
- What is the interview like at places such as mcdonalds and burger king? What questions are asked in these type of places?

Kitchen help usually dont work the counter but you could be trained to do both if they need they get short handed. Pay varies by the city and area. Can be from $8-10/hr in our town. Interview is to make sure that you are good with customers, can handle money(if you have to do the register) and are reliable and honest.

If you apply for one position and they offer you a different position, you can always say no.

But keep in mind, these things:
-They can probably ask you work any position that's at the same pay-level (which is pretty much any position at a fast-food place) -- it's usually listed as "Other duties, as requested" on the list of job responsibilities.
-If you are able and willing to work multiple positions, your ability to get hours will increase and your ability to get hours that you want will most likely increase.
-A willingness to learn and work other positions will also increase the opportunities that you will be offered at the restaurant and could influence your pay (as in, you could get raises sooner and at a bigger percentage.)
-Your willingness to "get the job done" no matter what will also effect the reference that you get from the manager when you go to get a job in "the real world."

The pay will vary by market, but as others have said it generally runs in the $8-10/hour range.

They will probably ask you about your work history -- what positions have you held and what your responsibilities were. They may even ask you some "what if" questions.
