i have a friend whose name is 'Neil'. but i dont know how to pronounce it. is it ['nil]?

Usually it's pronopunced 'neel' ... almost the same as the word kneel (silent k)

it is ususally pronounced like neel or kneel but it depends on where they came from, in different countries, they might pronounce the name different, i recommend that you just ask them!
