Please help my husband and I. We heard on a sports talk radio that the NY Times lists the New England Patriots with an asterik, and that furthermore, denotes at the bottom that this is because they were "caught cheating". Can anyone verify this for us? Thank in advance!

the new york post put an asterik next to the patriots with the note that they were caught cheating. i'm not sure if they still do this.

Technically, they did cheat. They got caught taping opponents signals. A lot of coaches cheat in ways you might never hear of.

the * just means they clinched their division, they clinched on thanksgiving day when the Bills lost. ** means they clinched home field advantage and *** means clinched home field throughout the playoffs

Probably just means that they have clinched their division or a playoff berth, don't sweat it.
