Also, is the name 'Noah' of any significance? Or is it something we will find out later...? Or was it just a random quirk that the show decided to put in?

It was a nickname given to him by TV critics and fans, and is short for "Horn Rimmed Glasses", which he wears. It's a tribute of sorts to the infamous CSM - Cigarette Smoking Man - of The X-Files. The writers and producers also used the nickname as well, but it was never used in the show.

HRG is short for "Horn-rimmed Glasses", which was his code name when he worked for the company.
