Yes!
Nickelback - and unfortunately, they just keep cranking out garbage. Seriously? Every song I've heard by them sounds exactly the freakin' same.
And another I'd put under here is Disturbed. All their songs sound pretty much the same, too.
Rckets: Good call on Godsmack!!

Yes, but often when a bad tries something new and changes their sound a bit (whether it's for the better or for the worse), they're accused of "selling out," while bands who make the same crap for 8 years are "staying true to themselves." It's really a lose-lose situation.

yea you are somewhat right but a lot of the times it isn't the same thing since it is the band's style of music. But 80's bands(i.e. Foreigner, w/e) every song is the same so you came be the judge of that and pick what songs you like

The one band that defines this better than any other one in the universe would be....Godsmack. Who needs originality when you can sell over ten million albums? All their songs sound identical. For being this dark metal band, they're incredibly boring.
Thanks Sylvia and likewise on Nickelback.

Yes, which is why I like Incubus. Their albums are all different, but just similar enough to be recognizable, not to mention terrific.

Yeah - I think their logic goes something like: "if we stick to this formula, we can keep our fans who put us on the Billboard, and avoid the sophomore slump" - something like that. I think that seems to be the mentality at least with a lot of repetitive bands.
I could be wrong :)
