the chinese people just keep speaking chinese? Sometime I swear they're talkin about me. I got mine done earlier and I really wanted to tell them it was sorta annoying for them to watch the lady do my nails and speak chinese but I didn't say anything..I was the only one there too..lol..so all of them were crowded around my nails..lol

And NO I'm not being racist...

No. Mine usually speak Korean or Vietnamese.
I do feel like they are talking about me and thik it's rude but I don't really care. It's a culture, everyone's different. My best friends parents used to speak Spanish to each other and after being at her house everyday for years, I actually started to understand what they were saying and busted them when they did start talking about us. The funny thing is, my best friend lived that way for 24 years and can't speak a lick of Spanish herself.

Yes I do, but the lady i go to I've been going for a while now and she speaks english very well, so I understand her and she has no one working for her right now so unless her husband is in there...she's speaking english. I do wonder though sometimes what they are saying because she will be talking to him english and switch to their language. She is a little nosy though lol, but she does nails the best...well except for toes, but that's a diff question lol

The shop I used to go to used to it all the time. I didn't like but I just sucked it up because they did the heck outta my nails! The place I go to now is better. They speak to you and talk to you while they do your nails and they speak English. They still converse in Vietnamese just not to the point where you feel like they're talking about you. :-)

Yea I hate that. A couple laughed after speaking in another language and now I feel like their talking about me. I usually just do my own though and I have to say I do it better. So ha on them!

Oh wow! This happens to me ALL the time! Then they laugh too...I just know them damn females are talking about me! I think they just hate everyone, and doing nails. I always feel so uncomfortable going into the nail salons because I feel that way...I'm glad someone else out there wonders what they are saying too!

I say all the females that have had this happen to them, go into a nail salon together, and make up their own language and laugh out loud, and make them wonder!!!

I'm not pleased that they do it so I told them it's only respectful to speak English when in the company of people in English speaking countries. Now when I go in I don't hear it, only English. And NO they weren't offended, I explained that if I were in their country working and living I'd learn their language, we wouldn't speak English.
And I'm not racist or prejudiced either.

I know what you mean. I went in to one of those places...Once...And once was enough. I don't mind paying more to get my nails done somewhere else that won't make me feel insecure. I mean, if you want to live the American dream, you had better learn English. If I were to move to another country, I would learn the language before I went.
