Seriously? That's an awfully authoritative route to stick to the beliefs of a single philosopher. I think most people (who even study philosophy) tend to have a few favorites. Everyone else just believes what they choose or make up as they go. That doesn't mean their beliefs wouldn't align with certain philosophers, it just means they don't know the philosophers and therefore couldn't tell you.

Studying philosophy is fine to help crystallize your own ideas. However, "sticking with one philosopher" sounds like you're trying to find someone to think for you. Remember "philosophers" are just men (or women) and are as fallible as all men and women. Running your life as if any single person has the absolute truth is a sure way to lose yourself.

Philosophy, unlike religion, does not demand obedience to anyone. It is the love of wisdom for itself. Plato writes wonderful dialogs that reveal a mass of human wisdom. You don't have to think that Plato has the last word on anything to enjoy the insights and wisdom in the dialogs. You can continue down the path and find wisdom in Bishop Berkley and enjoy any philosopher and writer. You can do all of this, enjoy it, and still be looking for "what is the case." I think that is a good thing.

'Sticking to one philosopher' will be as narrow and dogmatic as the teachings a philosopher worthy of the name stands against.
I have preferences, yes, but that does not mean I am obliged to 'stick to' anything a philosopher writes. Freedom of thought is the password into philosophy, authenticity its hallmark - I find it improper to as much as quote some one else in support of one's views; I see it as a kind of 'intellectual robbery'.
