Should I go with the short velvet dress at http://fashionmash.com/outfit/114/ or the more officey outfit at http://fashionmash.com/outfit/113/
I'm in Canada & there is about 6 inches of snow. Also, my husband's boss & receptionist are going home at 4:30 to change before the party, so I know they are dressing up.

I like the velvet dress, add some black boots, black jacket, and some jewery. PERFECT!

I would think the velvet dress would be fine. Do you know what any of the other ladies are wearing. I would think they would not be wearing anything that resembles work clothes, more relaxed yet dressy. The velvet dress is pretty, it will be a hit. Have fun. (park close to the door) hehe.

I would wear some that is Christmas colors or something is more for evening wear..
something is that has a little length to it..
with long sleeves..
a red or black skirt with a green or red sweater.. or a black long dress with a red belt, and green decoration on it..
the black boots would be perfect..
good luck, have a good time, happy holidays..
don't forget the accessories,, of jewelry.. make it Santa ear rings or jingle bells..

A casual dress or nice slacks and a nice blouse. Business is suits while business casual tends to be khakis and more dressed down slacks - not jeans.
