I have always liked X-Mass for sure. To see all the kids smile opening their presents and all, then the feast afterwards, it was just great. But for the life of me, I cannot understand how Jesus Christ's Birthday got mixed-up with some old guy in a white beard being pulled around by "Flying-Reindeer"???? I mean last i knew, It was "Jesus Christ" born in the manger not "Klaus-Christ". I dont get where one ended and the other started? And "Flying Reindeer"? Po-lease! Yes! Most certainly every-single-holliday is commercialized now days. It's all about which Store can rake-in the most money anymore, and thats it. "Greed" has overcome the true meaning of hollidays in my opinion anyways. Thats just the way I see it. Well, Like they say, to each-his-or-her-own right? Hope this answered your question Sage. Take Care, and God-Bless to You and Yours. And in case I dont get to answer another of your questions here any-time soon, Have a wonderful Christmas, and a Happy-New-Year! Again, Take Care. 1st Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam 67-70

People totally miss the meaning of the holidays now because of all the commercialism. It would be nice to get back to the basics and remember what this holiday is all about - and all the other holidays as well! And tell whoever to stop creating new holidays like grandparents day, and friend day and etc.!

Without a doubt! I think its sooooo crazy how much money some people spend each and every year. They put so much on their credit cards it takes all year to pay it off! What happenned to being with the people u love? What happenned to the true meaning of Christmas? Just like Valentines day with all the diamond commercials! Id rather have a candle lit bubble bath for two!

Yes, however I believe all holidays have become over commercialized.
Most holidays are now viewed as days in which stores can make money. Most people do not stop to reflect on what the day truly commemorates, though many do... However Christmas is truly the birth of christ. most people only worry about there greedy selves.
valentines Day, easter, memorial Day, 4th of july, labor day, halloween, thanksgiving etc.. who really stops to think about what the days really mean? and thats just a short list. theres many holidays that people dont reflect on the true meaning. its more important for employers to make a buck out of it.
Not to mention we live in an extremely greedy society, where its more of "what will I get out of this day".

THE ANSWER IS YES! You should read the question on "I am broke at Xmas and don't want to disappoint my kids, and my kids have a BIG LIST".
A mother was crying out for help because she would not able to full fill the BIG LIST OF HER 5 and7 years old kid's wishes?!!!! And she just sat in front of the computer to weed out the answers that she does not like for the past hours. Oh, I am sorry I forgot to mention that she needs FOOD too.
Maybe someone out there would be stupid enough to full fill her kids with the Big list of items????
She herself is in the fantasy world of the massive commercial
on TV and News paper. And her kids properly sitting in front of the TV making wish list.
Hopefully that they are not on welfare and used up our hard earning tax dollars.
The best memories I have with my parents were not anything with money. We always make the best of little things that we have. And live by their example. Any Xmas is no difference.
Thanks for asking such a good questions.

No joke! I asked my 4 year old cousin what Christmas was about and she said the stuff santa gives you!! Oh and here's the BEST part! Christmas was about the birth of Christ! Now, so i hear from rumors, they as in the law, are trying to take Chirst out of CHRISTmas!! how dumb is that?! I'm thinking of standing in front of a Walmart on Christmas eve with a sign that says "Christmas is about Jesus, Rejoyce!" lol

Yes maybe people forgot what it is about because sometimes I don't even know why we celebrate Christmas is it for Jesus, Santa, Kids, ourselves, presents, family. I don't know so yeah maybe it has become to commercialized and noone knows why we really even celebrate this Holiday anyway?

yes, people need to remember that Christmas is actually a religious holiday. Just that christianity is a friendly religion and wants everyone to join in.
I am very annoyed at all this "xmas" palava. It's not like we have to shorten ramadan to "r-day" or anything. People should let the true message of the holiday come out.
did you know that it was coke who made santa claus wear a red/white suit? before that he was just a saint.
