Take the seasonal job. They need the temporary help in this shopping madness going on now. They will take just about anyone with a pulse that will represent them well and that who is good with customers. Mention that you are also looking for full time work now and that if they had an opening for full time work that you would love to explore it. Be a diligent worker.
You have to realize a few things going in:
1) It is very busy now, but after the 1st of January it is going to be very slow. They are going to go back to the skeleton staff they had before the Christmas boom. That is just how retail works. If one of those people leaves - great for you. Maybe you could get that opening. But you will also be competing against all the other seasonal help that would like to go full time too. In all likelihood they may not be able to offer you full time work.
2) Profits in retail are slim. If there are down times, be prepared to be sent home as a seasonal worker. Ie: If it snows or if for some reason a lot of people aren't at the store that night - they might send all or half of you home.
3) Even if there is no chance of you getting a full time job with them - still do an excellent job. They can be a good reference for you. Two years ago I had a boss from hell that got rid of me. I did a good job as a seasonal worker and they spoke well of me to other employers.

You can let them know that you are very interested in working at Macy's and that you hope that you will be able to grow with the company. You do not necessarily have to say that you are looking for full-time, just get the job first. Once you get the job, you can ask for more hours; this will also show that you have potential. Good luck with your interview! :)

You should NOT contradict yourself. You applied for seasonal, so don't tell them you need a full time job. You are able to work this seasonal job, right (assume you are not working right now, that is why you need a full time job). Besides, if you mentioned that you need a full time job, they would think that you CANNOT fellow simple instruction, as their job posting was for SEASONAL positions not full time. Right? That was the job posting that you applied, not full time. BTW, I am not sure why you posted this question under "Food Services". I would suggest you to be MORE DETAIL ORIENTED on your new job. Good luck! =)

Just relax ...if You show nervousness , the interviewers can read it and reject You right away (especially if the interviewers are women ). 2.Dress nice not flashy 3.Sit upright on the chair and relax your shoulders. 4.Be prepared for the question , why You want to work for us ? 5.Be prepared for How do You feel qualified for this job ? 6.Ask the interviewers some questions that shows You know stuff about the company .. 7.Send a thank You note before leaving.

I would not mention it if I were you. Just do your best in the Interview and it may turn into full-time. Impress them once you get the job and don't mention that you want full-time during the Interview.

In the interview mention that you would like to stay on longer than just the season. Then do your best to impress all the managers, seriously always be on time pay attention and try to learn their system as quickly as you can. Don't be afraid to ask questions or be worry if you mess up. You'll do fine, I hope they keep you. (they do keep some of their Christmas help) I worked in at JC Penney's and started off as just seasonal, they liked me so much they kept me.

I think it would be okay if you let them know you're interested in staying on after the holiday season, but don't act like you expect them to hire you for longer than the job you applied for (and know that they probably won't unless they need employees and you prove that you're a good one).
Good luck!

if you don't say it, how will they know? just tell them you'd like to be considered for full-time in the future.
