okay - if you are hungry then EAT. I am 19 weeks with my first and eat whatever and whenever I want to. Thankfully I crave fruits and such, rather than chips and ice cream. But still...I don't not eat chips if i happen to crave them (Chili Cheese Fritos are sooo good).

I wasn't a petite girl before I got pregnant - but I still have only gained 3lbs so far. Listen to your body...there are reasons that it give you certain signals.

That sounds like nothing to me! 3 slices of bread, 2 slices of bacon and a salad? That sounds almost like one meal to me :) As long as you are eating healthy (sounds like it so far) and not gaining excessive weight, than you are fine! You should gain 25-35 lbs during the pregnancy, so just keep that in mind. You only need an extra 300 calories a day for baby starting in second trimester, but you still need to eat the average 2000 calories!

Want to hear what I ate today - it will make you feel better...

4:00am - bowl of apple jacks... I just woke up hungry in the middle of the night, ate and went back to sleep :)
7:00am - yogurt and water
10:30 am - coffee and muffin
11:30am - cheeseburger and water
2:00pm - cheese and crackers and grape juice

And the day is no where near over! BTW, I am in my third trimester, but I have only gained 20 lbs so far. Healthy as can be! Just take care of yourself and eat when you are hungry.

LOL Welcome to the club, sistah!!! I eat ALL the freakin time and I'm 10 weeks. I've already gained 5 lbs and my doctor said I was doing very well. Eat when you want, just eat in moderation. Congrats and good luck!

By the way, I had some fruit at about 9 this AM, some mashed potatoes around 11 then some chips and salsa around 2. Time for some more fruit! LOL

Haha I eat like that and I'm not pregnant! just kidding, sort of.
Cut yourself SOME slack, you are eating for two. But remember, thats not a free-pass to eat all the junk in the house. That's all weight that will need to be lost after the baby is born.
Good luck!

If you are four weeks pregnant, your normal diet doesn't need to change.

You don't need to "eat for two" or consume massive amounts of calories what so ever.

The food you described today looks like a lot of carbohydrates, that don't keep you full for very long. Try eating more proteins, like chicken breast or eggs. Those things will keep you fuller for longer and you'll have more energy.

Good luck, and congratulations on your pregnancy.

You're not a pig. Just make sure you're getting plenty of protein, calcium, and folic acid. Take a prenatal vitamin if you're not already. And romaine lettuce is supposed to be good for the placenta, so eat lots of that.

Yes it is baby! And don't feel like a pig. Eat what and when you want! I am sick to death of these health nuts when it comes to pregnancy. Sure, you'll need to consume some leafy greens to keep you regular, but otherwise, just drink plenty of water, low sugar juices and call it a day! Enjoy your pregnancy!

Heck yeah. I looooove food when I'm pregnant. Well, any time, actually. The only problem is...after my first, I dropped all of my baby weight thanks to breastfeeding. So when I stopped breastfeeding, it all came back because I was still eating like I was pregnant. UGH! I hope tha doesn't happen this time around (preg with #2). I'll have to be more careful.

lol, aw. You're going to be more hungry when you're pregnant. That's all there is to it. And you also need to eat more, sometimes I'll eat every 2-3 hours. The key is to eat healthy though. Fruits and vegetables are very important right now. Sometimes we all need to give in to our cravings though and that is okay! You're fine, don't feel bad about it. Congratulations and good luck. :)
