For anyone who wears foundation?

Question

Why do you wear it? To cover up acne or just to get a more even skin tone or something else?

And do you enjoy wearing it, or feel that you have to? Does it embarass you or save you from embarassment or both?

Foundation does something different for everyone. That is why they sell so many formulations of foundation. For women who just want some light coverage to even out the overal texture and color of their skin there is tinted moisturizer and powder foundation. For people like myself who have redness due to roseacea or some other skin imperfections, medium coverage liquids are best and work well to help even things out more completely. For women with blemishes or severe acne problems there are full coverage formulations and blemish sticks that cover completely.

I think most women wear foundation to avoid embarrasment. It makes you feel better when you look polished, and for many women who have skin problems this is the only way they can blend in, look "normal". I see this alot in my career, even the most knock out model wears foundation to even her skin and cover a blemish. Even perfect skin can benefit from foundation, tinted moisturizers give a dewey glow and radience to the skin. You can mix shimmer powders in and give a totally different look. I think most women aren't embarrased by it, unless they buy the wrong color and it just looks bad. This is easy to avoid though and there are solutions for every skin.

I personally wear foundation on most days to cover redness on my face, but if I am just bumming around town or doing errands I might opt not to wear it. I think you have to be realistic about what you expect from it. I don't really enjoy wearing foundation, most times I don't even notice I am wearing it until I look in the mirror. I do enjoy knowing all my flaws are covered though, and in my line of work looking good is a career move, not just a choice.

I wear foundation to even out my skin tone AND to cover up any blemishes that I already have, or that might pop up later in the day. I don't feel comfortable going out without it. It's like a veil, that covers my flaws. It doesn't embarrass me to wear foundation, but I would be a lot happier if my skin tone was even and clear enough that I did not have to wear it anymore. I have a lot of fun with eye makeup though!! I doubt that I could ever part with it.

I frequently get the Irish redness in my face, so I wear foundation to even it out. For everyday wear, I use a powder foundation. I typically use a liquid foundation if it's a special occasion because it gives better coverage and lasts longer. I never feel I HAVE to wear foundation. In fact, I frequently go without makeup at all. I simply like how I look in makeup as well and using foundation seems more polished and put together.

I wear to even out my skin tone.. i keep my face nice and clean so i do not have ANY acne and i am very proud of it. My skin tone is avarge im not TOO tan but im not REALLY LIKE WHITE some parts are like pink of my face and stuff so I just even it out with foundation. and i use a real natural kind. I dont like to look plastic.

I wear foundation to cover up a few period pimples and my red cheeks. I enjoy wearing it because it makes me feel polished and pretty! It doesn't embarrass me because I know how to apply it correctly, and I feel like it would save me from embarrassment (but in all honesty I don't think it would make much of a difference if I didn't wear it).

I'm not a fan of foundation so I only wear it on special occasions, like when going to a special dinner, a wedding, or something like that. I use it to make my skintone more even and to soften the look of the pores on my nose. Even then, though, I don't use very much.

Yeahh i were foundation and i love wearing it. i use maybelline dream matte mouse and it gives you a real even skin tone and covers up ANY zits. Also, you cant even feel it so that makes it really good. yea i hope i helped :)

i wear foundation because it evens out my skin tone and makes me look a lot more polished and covers up any blemishes i may have. maybelline dream matte mouse works GREAT, it goes on really nicely and you can't even feel that you're wearing it.

I use a dab on pimples, and my pimple scars in that little crevice on your chin where it shadows. :).
