I think he doesn't have the balls to break up with you, so he is using rent as an excuse. I bet he knows you can't afford it and he knows you'll have to move out because of it.

If he is willing to tell you to move out if you cant pay it (as opposed to finding another alternative, as in you both move out to a more affordable place) then maybe you should move out and stop wasting your time on someone who is treating you more like a roommate than a girlfreind/fiance. Does he know you cant afford it? Is he not able to afford it all of the sudden? Talk to him about it and make sure it isnt a misunderstanding, and if he in fact says pay or move out, then you are better off finding another place and sharing less rent with someone else. It is a good idea to share bills/ rent, but it should not be so black and white in what is supposed to be a loving relationship where you take care of each other. Good luck

If its now all of a sudden...then find another room mate. Hes not even your friend ... let alone anything else.

And if you cant afford $600. / month then think of renting a room somewhere else. Share rentals are available and it sounds like you need to build some independence anyway. Good luck

I think you probably aren't on the contract, and are having relationship problems. Now, he wants you to start paying since you are no longer a girlfriend, but are a roommate.

I think the best thing is for you to ask for a short amount of time to go find somewhere else to live. You don't have many legal rights since you are not on the lease agreement.

Im pretty sure no fiance would charge his soon to be wife RENT. Thats just silly... I think you two need to have a talk about where your relationship is going. Is he going to make you pay him rent when you two get married and buy a house?! You have some thinking to do!

Judge Judy would say that you have to pay the current amount that he is asking for and no back rent. If you can't pay it then you would have to leave, but he does have to give you 30 days! Just like a regular landlord!

well, first of all.....is he a boyfriend or fiance?? Cause that can make a difference.

When people live together it is deemed 'long term' relationship which is ideally suppose to lead to marriage.
Once married you share everything. Until then technically you should split all the bills.

So on one hand......he didn't want money, but you should have made arrangements in case things changed.

On the other hand.......if he is your fiance and he suddenly doesn't want to support you anymore........you should see what is REALLY going on.

Good luck

well, he didn't think his finances through and now realizes that he can't cover the whole thing. Why not try to write down a budget for the both of you, see what you'd be able to pay. Not fair to live there for free. Not fair of him to let you buy a car and not want rent from you, then to ask for rent later.

Move out! Go find some other place where you can live rent free! WTF?! Your food, medical and dental have nothing to do with him or the household bills. What about, gas, electricity, water, property taxes, insurance and the MORTGAGE? Is it fair for him to pay this by himself? You should want to contribute. If you can't pay 600, then figure out something that won't leave you completely broke and pay the guy! Where else are you going to live for free?

Have to agree with Dr Deth, that is exactly what it sounds like. This does not sound like a fiance relationship, more like a POA as needed. Leave let him sink
