It truly looks like that most televangelists and evangelical conservatives don't believe in the First Ammendment right to freedom of religion. If you list to most of them, especially ones like Pat Robertson, their whole view is that if you are not a Christian or more specifically a member of their specific brand of Christianity, then you must either be converted or outright destroyed. They hate Muslims, and anyone who belongs to a religion that they don't like. What do you think.

I DO NOT MEAN REPUBLICANS OR CHRISTIANS IN GENERAL. I am speicifically talking about evangelical conservatives and televangelists that believe that the only reason we should support Israel. is that if Israel ever gets to rebuild the synagogue on temple mount that it would bring about the second coming. Please don't make generalizations about the question or me, I don't make them about you.

Alas, my friend, it is because that is what they have been taught to believe. They, and all there followers, truly believe this, for that is what they, and their parents, and their parent's parents, have always done and always thought. You can wave common sense in their face all you like, but they don't believe you. No more than you would if they shouted parables at you or I (a liberal christian, which in some people's books is they next best thing to a heritic) till they were blue in the face. I think that truly do want power, but I think it may be subconciously-they do not think that's what they're after, but, as they say, actions speak louder than words. As for freedom of religion, I think they do want it-but just the freedom of their religion, not other peoples. They also think the establishment cluase should be led out and burned at the stake:)-that is, unless someone tries to put a book about Islam, Wicca, or-heaven forbid!-evolution (yes I know it's not a religion, but you'd be suprised how many people think it is) on a school shelf. Then it's ok.
The protection of Fundamentalist Christianity is far more important to them than other people's basic rights. But, such is life in Fundyville.:)

They don't?

I guess I missed the part where they're demanding the government to proclaim Christianity the religion of America and create the Christian Church of America.

I also missed the part where they demanded the government prevent people from practicing any other religion.

Because, unless they've done either of those 2 things, you cannot logically or rationally claim they don't support freedom of religion.

And I've certainly never heard them say that people must convert or be destroyed, or that they hate Muslims. That's an outright lie.

Why do you feel you need to lie in order to advance your viewpoint?

Every one has a choice on who they believe in. Jesus is the only way for salvation. I hope these scriptures will give you insight. Christians are NOT prefect there are areas that need to be worked on. People fail. Jesus does not. It's not that Christians hate other people of other religions. They're concerned about your soul. The Believers do need to show more love towards others though. I hope you'll have a great day.

John 14:6 Jesus told him " I am the way, the truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me." NLT
John 3:16 " For God so loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son (Jesus) , so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. NLT
John 3:17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. NLT

Do you mean all of them are like that? Or is it just some of them that are like that? And they don't all HATE all Muslins, Jews, Buddists, Hindus, or other brands of Christianity.

And that first amendment guarantees freedom of religion doesn't it? One of their religious tenents is 'go and teach all the world'. They are told to share what they know with all the world.

OK so some of them do get carried away with that. But does that make them any different from the other religions? You have supposed muslims who get carried away and make human bombs of themselves and go to blow up imfidels.

I don't ever remember Pat Robertson saying go be a human bomb. I could be wrong. He may have said it when I wasn't listening. I don't listen to him very much. But I'm sure that would have made the news.

You might want to contact Pat Robertson and ask him if he hates other religions..I am not defending any of them. But his statement about other religions is not one of hate. I think you might have this a bit out of line with turth about what these type people have to say..Again I am not defending this folks or standing up for their religious beliefs but for sure If I was going to post a question I certainly would want to at least post a true one on any subject and not one that misleads the readers.

If any of the Religions have committed mass slaughters of human beings..Catholic Crusades and the support of the invasion of Central and South America.

well, i have yet to see one of them put anyone to death for converting from to another religion. the bible says that only through jesus can a person get to heaven and maybe in their mind they are trying their best to save as many souls as possible, i don't know. i have never seen or heard of anyone being forced to worship GOD or jesus. the reason they hate muslims, the radicals i am sure, is because they hate you even more than you say christains hate you. turn the channel.and if you have one ref to christianity on tv being forced on anyone, reference it please. GOD bless.muslim radicals are the worst. ever listen to their speeches. TALK ABOUT HATE.
