First off, I'm Baptist. Second, I'm not even voting for Romney. But what is the big deal about him being a mormon? Didn't Minnesota vote in a muslim?

If that is his religion of choice and he has no plans to force it upon others, leave him alone, right?

Mostly LibDems are the ones concerned over that issue, although I wouldnt put it past some Repubs to try and use it against him, either.

His Mormonism shouldnt amount to anything, really. It's no different thaan being a Christian....which most Presidents have been, BTW.

Mormons are not Christians per se, so Evangelical Christians may have a problem with voting for a Mormon. But Mormons tend to be moral people and the President doesn't have to have a particular religious belief to be a good leader.

Christians though believe that the more a person is led by God, the better off America will be.

i think mormonism sounds really wierd to most main-stream christians, with the heavenly mother (god's wife) and all that.

but i'm an atheist!
mainstream christianity is as wierd to me as mormonism!

religion matters to me -- i think until islam continues to be prejudiced against women (like me) i cannot accept it -- but mormonism isn't really differnet from christianity in it's values. they do see visions and dreams more, but that's more kinda new age / positive thinking ppl america is also full of already (thanks Opera and The Secret!).
i'd have a problem voting for a muslim because i'm a woman, but if i was a man i'd probably BE a muslim. 4 wives? obedience? Yey!

It should not be a big deal considering that our country is supposed to have separation of church and state. A person's religious beliefs should have nothing to do with how they would perform in a political office. They should keep their religious and personal moral beliefs separate from their job. We should vote on a person based on his or her ability to do the job, not on religious beliefs or personal moral beliefs. Unfortunately, there are many people in this country who refuse to accept separation of church and state. They want the state to reflect and enforce THEIR personal religious beliefs and no one else's. We only have to look at the Middle East to see what a horrible idea that is.

The Mormons have faith all of us lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father, various Heavenly mothers, and 20 Billion Heavenly Siblings till now we've been born right here in the international. Then there replace right into a conflict. the best adult males gained and have been born White. The undesirable adult males lost and became demons. people who have been independent or did no longer combat bravely have been born with non-white pores and skin. The bravest of the brave have been born to Mormon households. all of us know that Romney ought to have been a "Valliant Warrior" in the "conflict in Heaven" in the time of the "Pre-existence". How else could desire to he have been born "White and Delightsome" to an LDS relatives right here in the international? Heck, he replace into probably between the Commanding Generals . Now , u.s. desires a President with efficient military journey like that to get us by using our conflict in Iraq. could desire to you please ask "the only and purely authentic Prophet", Gordon Hinkley, to delight launch those efficient information to the universal public? we could desire to correctly known what battles he fought in. what number medals he gained. how most of the "much less Valliant squaddies" he pronounced being born with black pores and skin while they have been given their possibility to be born in the international. replace into Al Sharpton one in each of THEM ? How approximately Jesse Jackson? Mormons, this is your possibility to coach the international the easy of the eternal gospel. Dont pass over out. we've universal Romney working for president of the u . s . and we choose you badly proper now!
