I've found that in the last few months when it comes around 'that time' I feel like absolute crap. I always either get a really upset tummy or a really bad headache. I'm an emotional rollercoast and all I want to do is sleep...
Do you feel like that too? What do you do to prevent it or at least alleviate it?

Yes, I feel like that too. Most women do. Drinking a lot of water will help with bloating, and can make your tummy feel better. Any pain reliever you normally take is good too. Just don't over use them, because your body can become immune to them. As for your emotional rollercoaster. Oh dear, thats the part I have the worst time with. They have perscription that you can take a week out of the month that will help stabalize your mood. I believe it is called Sarafem. The best thing you can do is just not let it drag you down, and keep yourself motivated to stay awake and go about day to day business. It's going to be with you the rest of your life!

Yes, water helps. I also take midol and that seems to help some, but I try not to use it too often. Also I found that using a menstrual cup actually helped my cramps become less severe. My favorite is the mooncup uk and lunette. The instead softcup is the disposable kind but known to be a little less comfy than the regular cups. They are way more comfortable than tampons and have no known healthy risks since the 1930's when they were first distributed...

YES!! I try to drink a lot of tea, it helps a little.

Midol is the best I've found so far.
