Not only churches. Everyone is taxed in multiples....more people should support the Fair Tax. People who don't know much about it think it is just a flat sales tax and no income tax. But the fair tax will actually remove all of the excessive embedded taxes that most don't even realize they pay.

It isn't the "money" that is being taxed, it's the church. Churches pay no income taxes and no taxes on the property they own. The fact is, churches use city services. If you live next to a church, you know that a large church means more traffic. The city expects to receive all of the same services that any company expects, so why should a church, which is trying to make money just like any other corporation, get a free ride for city services it uses, while the rest of us, esp. those of us who own businesses, pay more taxes for that lost revenue. Does that seem fair to you?

That's normal. You pay payroll taxes, then everything from sales to property to gas and cigarette taxes on the rest. When you die, if you leave anything, your family will pay taxes on that. I think churches and other charitable organizations should be tax free, as long as they stay out of politics. That's the law. But if they tell you how to vote, they are no longer exempt and they need to pay taxes like anyone else.

Every one else is taxed two to three times on the same money, why should the church be exempt.
We get taxed when we get money as income tax.
We get taxed when we spend money as sales tax.
We get taxed for keeping property that we have already paid sales taxes on as personal property & real estate tax.
We get taxed on the money that we have saved for our entire lives when we die as estate tax.
Furthermore, any money given to the church or any other non-proffit org is tax deductible from your income tax so therefore the money that the church receives is never taxed in the first place.

Your money is taxed twice now. Ever heard of sales tax? They tax it when you earn it, then they tax it when you spend it, and in the case of some items it's taxed three times because of property taxes you have to pay on things you spent your money on.
