I like reading the replys to questions usually asked by seniors
like myself. And I have enjoyed reading about some of the
regulars, experiences in living their lives. And I've enjoyed
learning new things from time to time. Even we, don't have all
the answers to everyones' questions either. I notice that we
all pretty much pick and choose the questions most comfor-
table. And for the most part, seniors answer, when they have
valuable input, and not a flimsy comment to gain points only. I
am interested in how peoples lives may differ from my own,
and when I can offer some advice I feel worth contributing,
and perhaps can help someone, I will contribute.
I do wish that whoever screens our responses, would tell us what was objectionable, if we answered only with
honesty and without any intent to say something 'they' have a
problem with. Like yesterday, I mentioned the cleaning prod-
uct of "**** and Span". And they substituted one of the words
with stars. I wonder why there is such extreme sensitivity to
grammar? Especially when it's used correctly, and isn't intended to be a derogatory term. So other than this sort of thing, I enjoy spending my time on YA. In fact, I spend too much time here LOL. I can't focus on things I need to do, that need my attention. But I figure, I'm not alone in that. For I see too many familiar avatars when I start reading. I'm addicted, just like the rest of you LOL. And it's kind of a social respite too.Sometimes it almost feels like some of us are sitting
around in a coffee klatch, as we get to know each other more.
Well guess it's time to move on to another question. Care
to join me?

When I got my laptop a year ago there were these little icons at the top of the yahoo page. I clicked on them to see what they were. I found news, weather, games, etc. Took me a while to figure out bookmarks. One day I clicked on answers. I found it to be a nice pastime. It was a few months before I found the senior section. Wow, I found a home! Nice people, very friendly, and a sense of camaraderie. I love it. I am here everyday. I feel as though I am in the midst of a group of friends in my own living room.

I just can’t help myself. If I hear of someone in need of help or if they tell me they have a problem . . . . I have a need to be of help. My husband tells me I hand out advise, way to often. No matter who we are, it is human nature to have, a feel good feeling, when we help someone.
I worked with victims and children of domestic violence for 16 years and with the elderly for 4 years and for 20 years I found my niche in life. I loved going to work everyday.
My husband always allowed me to help some, with their monetary needs, when I couldn’t find an available resource for them and I organized fund-raising projects, in order to raise funds for those in need in my community and loved doing it.
I have been retired for 11 years and I was glad that somehow I found answers. I like to answer questions, where I can help, or maybe share quotes and poems I have collected or recommend books I have read, etc. etc.
There are times, I have had to let off a little steam. when I see questions that I adamantly disagree with.
Now that I told you more than you want to know, I will thank you for the question

I started off trying to help people with psychological problems...then health and fitness problems, etc. Then, after I'd been around awhile, I tried to help people get to know how Y! Answers works, as well. Suddenly, I started seeing humorous questions and answers...and I additionally got hooked on Polls & Surveys, and occasionally Jokes & Riddles. I'm a writer, so have spent time in books and authors, words and wordplay, etc. I'm hooked...what can I say?

The variety, the company, the interesting questions and thought processes or lack thereof on some cases; all in all, a great group.

I spent a lot of time in another area and it turned nasty. This was my last effort at finding nice people on Y/A. I'm glad that, for the most part, I have.
