A record and an album are really the same thing. The word 'record' is not used so much since the transition from vinyl to CD and other electronic media. The term 'album' comes from the times that, in the days of the old 78rpm discs, when you could only fit 3-4 minutes onto each side, long collections of music would have to be on several records. These were often stored together in large presentation 'albums' to keep them together and safe. The term seems to have stuck.

A 'song' is one piece of music with words which has lyrics and which is sung. This word if very often erroneously (and infuriatingly) used as a generic term to mean any single piece of music. This is totally wrong and rather stupid when you think about it. If a piece of music has no words and no voices, how can it possibly be a 'song'?

I hope this helps.
