A meaningful life is one that is lived for a real purpose. Real purpose requires God.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell
Russell was a 20th century mathematician, philosopher and Nobel Laureate. He was also an atheist but he realized that purpose requires God.
All attempts to put meaning into life without God are just self delusions. We do that which we think will make us happy and then pretend that it is our purpose.
If we admit that God might exist, then we can see that He must have put our great need for meaing into our human nature to point us to seek Him. Therefore seeking God is our purpose.

The meaning of life is to experience as many things as possible and to learn from them. With each experience we have (good or bad) our life because more meaningful because of it. As for how we got here... you can take your pick on theories there. I choose not to dwell on those unanswerable questions though. No matter how we got here, we have to make the best of being here. And contemplating how and why isn't making the best of it. Enjoy living. All other questions that we may have will be answered at death. (one way or the other)

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.
You never know who these people may be, your neighbor, your coworker, a long lost friend, or a complete stranger. When you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.
Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.
Everything happens for a reason.
Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.
Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become.
Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.
Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen.
Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.
You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.
Most importantly if you Love someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store.
Learn a lesson in life each day that you live.
That's the story of Life.
Love & Blessings
Milly

The meaning of this life, our life on earth, is to express our true selves, be creative, and leave something behind as a gift to the earth, to say thanks for letting me stay.
Being a nice person can be your art, leaving behind paintings, or designing something that will make the world a better place..etc
In these forms you have channeled something from the spirit world and left it behind in the physical. Manifesting your dreams, for isnt the world us humans have created a manifestation of our dreams? some guy dreams something up in his head and he does it, or makes it.
If we were to come on this earth and be mean dirty slobs she wont have us back (i.e. in another life) think of earth as a house, if you are dirty tennants you'll be kicked out and be treated like garbage, if you are nice, clean tennants, you will be rewarded.
Let your true self shine, search inside yourself what YOU really want out of life and go for it, treat others how you want to be treated and make your mark on earth. The earth wants to grow and evolve, we are only a part of it, contribute to her growth and you shall be rewarded and saved.
Hope this helps a little as I was once in your position, and I know how frustrating it is wondering what the F is goin on here?
The quest continues
