To answer your question;

I do not believe secularism has become a religion, but it is an offshoot of Humanism which has become a religion. With the environmentalist leading the way, you can imply that humanism is a cult with the prediction of the end of the world by Al Gore in the year 2012.

Secularism has nothing to do with atheism or agnosticism. There are Christian secularists and Jewish secularists and and Muslim secularists and Hindu secularists...

Secularism is merely the belief that the public sphere and the private sphere are two completely different areas and that religion should be solely the province of the private sphere. There are tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of Americans with deep religious faith who are secularists.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,"

Our government was founded on secularism.

"Secularism is that which seeks the development of the physical, moral, and intellectual nature of man to the highest possible point, as the immediate duty of life — which inculcates the practical sufficiency of natural morality apart from Atheism, Theism or the Bible"

I guess that's like asking if Atheism or Agnosticism are religions... I don't think so. You have to have organization to really be a religion, don't you? We could probably argue for hours over what constitutes a "religion", but somehow I don't think your question was meant to promote serious discussion.

Most religions have become cults, and devoid of any reason. If they wouldn't have, secularism wouldn't even be that big of a deal.

In some unusual way. If so, we're meant to protect this 'religion's' right as well, but not at the expense of removing God from the public domain.

Darn we got some whack jobs on here today. Secularism is the belief in the separation of church and state. Meaning the church will not run or influence the government. you know, the army in Turkey is sworn to defend secularism, and it is a much more religious place than here.
