As a candidate for office in Massachusetts, Romney repeatedly claimed to hold liberal or moderate views on social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. As a candidate for the Republican nomination for President, Romney has expressed views more in line with traditional conservative ones on social issues, and now portrays himself as a social conservative.

I can tell you right now, he is opposed to gay marriage. He supported getting the ban on the ballot toward the end of his term as governor of MA.
