Why can't you order a jersey for a retired player when you go to a store where you can order replica or authentic jerseys and have them put whatever name and number on it you want? I mean, what if you wanted your own name, and your college number and that happened to be the name and number of a retired player? When my favorite baseball player was still active, I couldn't afford his jersey, and now that I can, I supposedly can't order one because he's retired. Or do they just say that and not enforce it?

You would either have to find an old one or look under Cooperstown Collection.

Since Majestic is the authentic supplier for MLB, try going into the individual team's website stores and see if you can personalize a jersey for your favorite player.

Please don't get caught up in ordering expensive and overpriced "Mitchell and Ness" copies that don't even match the authentic material on the real game jerseys. They are also $100-$175 more than a real jersey purchased directly from your favorite team.

Some stores really have a deep respect for retiered players but im sure you can find a website where you can customise one. Type in uniform builder into google and go to the nike team website. Sign up for free and go customise what ever type of jersey you want. Then you can buy it.

mlb.com or the team's web site would be best.
