you can't use the 'big eyes in anime' comeback cuz donald duck and Garfield have big eyes. spikey hair, japanese ppl have spiky hair, and many of them dye their hair pink or green.
long story short, anime is STYLIZED. cartoons are super ugly.

chibi is ONE form of anime, but ALL american cartoon characters are ugly.

I've wondered that, too. They're so much uglier than when I was young. Is it because animators are getting lazier?

Not everyone draws the same and besides, I don't think there's anything wrong with being different. I am a fellow anime fan, but I think you are a little close-minded. Look, not every American cartoon is going to look like anime. I don't see anything wrong with the way American cartoons are. Have you seen the anime characters when they're chibi sized? They are super deformed, so why are you bashing American animation?

no longer all of us attracts an identical and besides, i do no longer think of there is something incorrect with being different. i'm a fellow anime fan, yet i think of you're a splash close-minded. look, no longer each American comic strip is going to look like anime. i do no longer see something incorrect with the way American cartoons are. have you ever seen the anime characters whilst they are chibi sized? they are great deformed, so why are you bashing American animation?

adds complexity to a character, venture bros is an example were the characters are proportioned wihtout looking bad, same with alot of adult swim cartoons, my problem with anime is how many caucasain kids are there in asia that can speak japanese and have a ****** up color of hair?, and somehow they stumble apon some antient card game, or something, well if that were to happen the fate of the world wouldnt be in the hands of some girly little boy . **** anime (except akira, and astroboy)
I will give you one thing, that is your opinion and your intitaled to it, but your veiws are scewed and distorted.

i think maybe because only kids are supposed to watch them. i have no idea though because kids in japan watch anime of course and the anime that is for kids have no seriously deformed people like there are in american cartoons! anime is so much better and the people are so much more normal!
my mom always uses that "anime has big eyes" thing and it really annoys me! i mean have you seen other cartoons?! big eyes are practically NOTHING compared to what you see in cartoons!

I think its to show the differences in people. And yes I like anime better myself, but I'm not going to knock other cartoons.

I wonder why they don't affect the kids that watch... surely they'd have nightmares if a real life person with a massive kidney shaped head and teeny arms and legs walked up to them in school...

its just the artists style of drawing i guess.but if you keep watching the cartoons after a long period of time u can notice the art actually gets better with some characters

you have some serious problems.... why are you ALWAYS criticizing cartoons??
ok, yes anime is way better... but that doesnt mean that every single one is awesome!! (though most are...)
have you seen bobo bobo and papuwa?? those are anime and the art sucks!!
why are anime characters eyes so big?? (i know...innocence and all....) and whats up with chibi's?? (even though they are super cute...)
see?? there are weird things in anime too.
leave cartoons alone!

Well Americaan tv look like that because little kids are suppose to watch it AND because they want them to look really funny
