You can influence people, but not change them.
The thing that makes me truly happy is when I can make other people happy.
To depend on someone else for happiness, is putting alot of pressure on the other person. That eventually scares the other person away.

I think you can change someone not to an extreme where you cannot tell they are the same person but if you can teach someone something and don't stop about it they will start to believe it. If you continue to tell soemone they don't look nice they are fat they will believe and they will change they way they look at themself and the way they look at the world through their lack of confidence.
I think there are many example of how you can change a person so yes i do think it's true that you can.
&&I do think it's wrong to depend on someone for happiness you should find happiness yourself because if that person goes your only happiness goes therefore you are left completely upset and sad.

The short answer is yes. There are communities in the American mid west where autos, steel, and mercantile once was produced. In their never ending quest for higher profits, corporations closed those plants and sent the jobs oversees, thus changing not just the workers whose life quality was significantly lowered, but the communities themselves in many cases rendering them ghost towns.

I think it is true that you cannot change someone else, only yourself.
happiness comes from inside yourself, relying on someone else to "make" you happy is a fools errand. It's the same as expecting some one else to change you, and with the first statement being true....well then it's not possible.
