My man and I are both brown eyed. His are very dark, almost black and mine are brown but they are more gold-ish than anything. My moms side of the family is all blue eyed. My daughter that was born 3 weeks ago has blue eyes but they aren't questionable blue, the are BLUE! How long do I have to wait before I know if they are going to stay that way>?

Its all about genes. Eyes usually fix their colour between 6 and 8 months.

Your side of the family has the recessive blue gene so her eyes may stay blue. Although brown eye-colour is dominant your husbands line may also have the blue gene in its history somewhere. Either way, any of your children could have blue eyes or brown or a mix of both.

Our eldest had "definitely blue" eyes and our next child had a blueish cast to eyes that looked as if they would be brown (they are). Our youngest has grey eyes. I have blue, my husband has hazel-brown.\

If your daughter has dark brown hair and blue eyes, she's going to look stunning! Congratulations on your lovely baby.

It could be a while. One of my nephews had *very* blue eyes as a baby. They didn't turn hazel until he was about 4.

Experts disagree on this it seems but the oldest I have read you have to wait is two years. My middle son's eyes didn't change until he was almost 2.
