I like New Years Day because it's the beginning of the ending. (Brings back good memories of my father). The food he'd cook for the family to bring good luck all thru the year (an old family tradition). Rev Dr. Martin Luther Kings' birthday (to join in on the march in his honor and listening to his recorded inspirational speeches). Memorial Day (I think about all my love ones and friends that have passed on). Independents Day (mostly a family reunion day). Thankgiving Day (lots of special foods and family gatherings). Christmas (all the anticipation is finally over).

Christmas and the Fourth of July.

Christmas because I love the time together with the family, but also the lights and decorations. I've collected ornaments since 1975, so we have a 7 1/2 foot tree with 500 lights, and so many ornaments you can barely see the tree! Plus, I collect snowmen, and other people have given me so many decorations that it looks like a Christmas card exploded inside my house!

Fourth of July because I was sick a lot during the Fourth when I was a kid, and a few times I saw the fireworks from a hospital bed. So being a third-generation pyromaniac, I get lots of fireworks and shoot them off every year.

Christmas because its very family oriented. The lights, the food, the music and being able to give instead of receive gives me a warm feeling. I love this time of year.
