Not sure what you are asking exactly, but here's some popular artists of the disco music era:
BeeGees
Silver Convention
Donna Summer
Chic
Gloria Gaynor
Village People
K.C. & The Sunshine Band
Johnnie Taylor
Tavares
Hot Chocolate
Foxy
Sylvester
Peter Brown
Patrick Hernandez
Taste of Honey
Heatwave
Earth Wind & Fire
Evelyn Champagne King
The Trammps
The Commodores
Andy Gibb
Dan Hartman
Andrea True Connection
Alicia Bridges
Giorgio Moroder
Yep there were lots of dance contests, it was fun, the dancing was fun and upbeat, and people enjoyed it. Thats what was happening in the mid to late 70's. I lived it and enjoyed every second of it.

Mine...They're still talking about...how I would not let the Police in without a ticket at 3:45am...1979...small town...small house...front lawn carpeted with empty beer bottles and over 375 people. The Police came back about a half hour later like they said they would...with there tickets... written by riot Police in full riot gear. Thank God Tazers were just an glorified cattle prod and not invented yet and pepper was still something you did not put into people's eye's...Yeessssuuuussshhh.
